If you know me only from Joyful Microbe, you may not realize that it’s not all I do!
There is another side to my business. And knowing about it will help you understand where I’m coming from and how I could potentially help you in other ways.
The other side of my business is freelance science writing.
I primarily work with life science companies that need scientific content (articles and blog posts) for their websites. But I also work with academics who need some writing or editing help.
The work I do with life science companies is very rewarding because they need an expert in a scientific field that can communicate complex topics in a simple way. And since I’ve got a PhD in microbiology and I’ve honed the skill of breaking down complex information — especially through writing for the Joyful Microbe blog — some have called me a unicorn!
So the content writing I do as a freelancer keeps me busy outside of Joyful Microbe.
AND if you have a need, I can help you, too, in a few different ways.
If you work at a life science company that hires freelance writers and are looking for a unicorn, let’s chat about working together!
If you are in academia and are interested in learning more about science communication or science writing, check out the company I co-founded with Dr. Sarah Wettstadt, SciComm Society. Sarah now leads this effort to train scientists to become excellent communicators.
